What is a Wiki?
(n.) A wiki is a collaborative Web site that comprises the perpetual collective work of many authors. Similar to a blog in structure and logic, a wiki allows anyone to edit, delete or modify content that has been placed on the Web site using a browser interface, including the work of previous authors.

What is the difference between a Wiki and a Blog?

A blog is similar to a journal. If you want to have an ongoing dialogue or discussion, a blog is the solution. For instance, if your students are keeping a daily diary about their homework, or about any topic, use a blog.

A wiki, however, is less about new content every day, and more about transforming the same content over time. For example, on a wiki, you could have a student post an essay, and then another student could make some additions and corrections, and another, and another, and over time the essay is transformed through the improvements and becomes the work of the whole class.

Blogs are about communicating, wikis are about getting work done, or collaboration.
